whats Your opinion on the topic?
I agree with your pros and cons.

My main issue with the speed (beyond the reason I stated above) is there is no real setup time when pirates attack you (you get setup if you attack them first). So you barely have time to issue orders before they are upon you. You might say "Well, that's what a surprise attack is", but I saw them coming. You have a sight radius on the Discovery map and you get a chance to run or stay and attack. 100% of the time I was attacked by pirates, it's because I wanted to fight them. Yet because I didn't explicitly click on the pirates first, the game treated it like I was surprised by hidden pirates. This was never the case.

i agree with this.
need more time to set up for attacks and the spacing needs to be more on objects.
adjustments to move speed may be enough, and adding a 30 second delay to setup troops would be nice.

With slower ships that have more hp feelling of battles would be better, battle would be also more fair as it would allow players that do not like starcraft like aproach to combat which have resaults based on more clicks per second, also it would allow for far better modules usage.

my opinion .
smaller ships are ok. maybe a tad quicker while using normal armor not heavy armor.
though i feel they should turn faster.

bigger ships sporting heavy armor should slow them down more* then it is already.
turning speed needs to be increased overall from all ships, but as weight goes up that degree of speed goes down.

It would also give roles to characters. big heavy armor ships take all day to turn and light low armor ships can circle around and pelt it to death while it struggles to keep up.

in a sense add diversity to your ranks and actually give purpose to battle position vs focus fire 1 ship at a time from head on..
some people will look at engine size and try to stay within a specific tonnage to engine size/type ratio to make a specific assault ships. not fast not slow can fight and keep moving.



i dunno .
light be lighter.
weight be heavier.
turning overall improved but also penalized more for heavier bulk.

a few tweaks and it's like a whole diff games.

I'm here just to let you know that we are going to do some global changes to the engines and test it soon, to make small cruisers and huge dreadnoughts behave as you usually expect it from them.

In certain moments (especially during PvE Survival) I found myself clicking and scrolling like a madman. But that is probably also caused by the fact that there's no downtime between the waves no matter how fast you kill them. (I hope that there will be a reward for killing them quickly - like getting a break and a little warning where the next wave will spawn at in the next 15 seconds or so in the future)

During PvP I liked the pace. Players get rewarded for skillful play. More actions per minute = more mircomanagement = more success like in many strategy games (Starcraft / Warcraft, etc)

More actions =/= more skills. Look at dawn of war. Often required briliant tactic to win not just clicking like a mad man. I am not from korea to be able to click like creazy. Empire at war had the same thing too, action wasent dull, in fact slower speed made it even more tense.

We will see how things turn out in next test with intresting changes coming in :)

looking forward to the next test aswell to see if/how things changed.

as i mentioned in my first post, i realy hope that the gameplay gets slower, as actions per minutes is a rather cheap way to make ur game skill based. Its much harder to have a slow but still intense and meaningful combat that everyone can enjoy and not just the hardcore playerbase with realy quick fingers.
With the Faction system/wars and a huge galaxcy to explore, the game needs a big playerbase to stay intresting and i strongly believe that a slower combat will have a better shot at getting a bigger casual player crowd into the game.
