Ground forces.

Postby zael » Wed Aug 17, 2016 2:31 am

As an Avid Starcraft fan, I always find myself wondering, I know what our fleets look like. But what do the factions ground forces look like?

I would love to give you a proper description, but the truth is that you can only see something in our artwork section - we concentrate on battles in the Open Space at the moment :)

No problem with that. It's just something on my mind.

Well, sometimes we dream of having an ability to land on a planet and have some time fighting and shooting. Pity it's only a dream now :)

It can be easy... make cutscene and then orbital dropship crash os spawn on the ground and you got normal rts :P

It all sounds so easy... but in fact it requires a lot of time if you want to make something good :)

Yep. But there is a game, which has another game connected to it - and it really has some... small... influence on faction wars there. So, everything is possible, I think :)

Two Starfall Tactics... Why not ?

In the multiplayer galaxy map control war, why not ? But, for having already do some programmatic at school last year, I think it would be long and hard, and Starfall is an original rts game (no building (Yes !!), in space (Yes !!)) and there isn't a lot of game with space rts (okay, Sc and sc2 in a way (CRUISEEEEER, CAREEEEER, MUTA...Lisk...) and now Battle fleet gothic (lol, the miniatures game is older and less known that the video game XD) ) So, Starfall in space is already awesome and it would be better to finish it before make a ground forces (in my opinion, I'm not a good programmer) :)

If you want to add some true ground rts, why not make like End of Nation (a rts which have never being launched... Sniff...) ? It's a lot of work, i admit it, but it could be fun and nice (because destroy an enemy fleet and after defeat it on the planet he/she could defend is something good to imagine :) ). Or not (because Starfall is a space rts). It's quitte ou double ^^'
