Dear Starfall Team,
The current sounds and animation for ships warping into/out of a battle are good, but I would like to suggest a way to improve them.
When watching shows (Star Trek, Star Wars) or playing other games (EVE Online, Mass Effect, HALO, Elite: Dangerous) there is a very heavy weight that comes with new ships entering a system.
Each version does it a little differently, to their own respects. But, every ship has a "thump" as it enters the system. This adds a "weight" to the ships. Letting you know it's here for a reason and a purpose, usually to do damage. It also sets the tone for the upcoming conflict that usually follows.
Sometimes, it's followed by more sounds or animations as a by-product of the slip-space jump. This can range from thunder, cracks, the sound of steel bending (as the ship adjusts to it's new atmosphere conditions), to many other things.
A couple examples:
Mass Effect: (Jump to 2:15) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLlAObjR-gs
Elite Dangerious (Jump to 2:10) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8R4JbYmKb4U
p.s. I'm really enjoying Starfall so far and can see it going on to great things! Also seeing such an active dev group is a huge plus.
Cheers
